Democratic system needs robust identification of its electorate. 

If you cant prove that you are a citizen ( there are plethora of documents that can start the process of identification) then you will considered as undocumented immigrants and you wont be able to participate in election process

Onus is on the citizen to provide documents, not the other way around

It marginalises lakhs of valid voters to prove their citizenship through documents that the labour class doesn’t own or very difficult to obtain. 

Announcing such a move with just 4 week window is a sure way to invalidate eligible voters. Proving citizenship has never been the necessity for EC in India. At the direction of BJP now they are trying to act as a NRC. 

Special Intensive Revision is plain de-enfranchisement done by the ruling govt.

The Aadhar roleout was done by BJP and they started al9t of controversial rules such as making it compulsory to link aadhar to phone number (which was overturned)

And now all of a sudden Aadhar can't be used for elections? Doesn't that seem bonkers?

Also, the main concern would be the prevention of disenfranchment of certain electoral base...how do you expect ppl to get added to the polls using new documentation when elections are 4 months away?
What's to stop BJP from ensuring only their voters are able to vote?

Similar cases of ppl being excluded from rolls were done during the UP elections

Aadhaar saturation probably means that excess people were counted most likely due to movement of migrant workers when the data was collected.

Here is the UIDAI having a list from 31st December 2020 on their website with multiple states showing over 100% saturation:

It is the current BJP that pushed for widespread Aadhar adoption. If there are flaws then it is their fault. Why should a citizen be denied their right vote cause of govt. incompetence.
People who support this move have a very servile mindset. The same BJP that wants to keep questioning the legitimacy of citizens wants to have a unified election because they are afraid of the questioning themselves!

The problem which that department will face is that whatever criteria they will decide for the verification the illegal will be first to full fill it and many "human rights activists" will provide any possible resource to them. 

And many "underprivileged" actual citizens will not be able to fulfill the criteria. 

Not to mention there will be political parties which will crave for illegal's votes and give somewhat similar statements like "they have the first right on the resource of the nation". USA is also facing problems due to this particular con of democracies.

Sure kicking the "undesirables" out of the country would be good. But you know in some cities you may be part of the "undesirable". Maybe some states will link it to speaking the local language, maybe some will link it to the right caste/religion. Any law which reverses the burden of proof i.e. citizen need to prove they are citizens (instead of agency proving you are an alien) will be heavily mis-used. Just look at the Assam NRC experience.

You do know that ECI does infact conduct Roll Revision periodically, right? And they have majorly completed this revision last month. This Special Revision didn't make sense cause they were asked to ignore multiple documents that Biharis had and asked for stuff like Birth certificate, previous election ECI number that no one had. 

This isn't the win that you should be celebrating. 

And explain me how is this a win for Election Integrity.

Ok I might get hate for this but I don't see anything wrong in this, election commission did this after the 2005 elections as well because multiple voter ids had become ultra common, they had to filter out repeated name+father's name combos, people just changed their district and made another voter id at that time

There is a very real and important need to investigate voters and find if they are genuine or not. As if leeching off of our country isn't enough, we cannot have foreigners be voting in our elections.
